Greatspur Clinical Development Limited is run by Janice Hedgecock, a clinical development consultant with over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, including 18 years in clinical research in small and large pharmaceutical and biotech companies and 7 prior years in medical diagnostics R & D, working in a Total Quality Management environment. Janice started her clinical research career as a Clinical Research Associate with Wellcome Research Laboratories, later moving to Alkermes Europe Ltd., the European subsidiary of an American pharmaceutical/biotech company. Here she worked through positions of increasing responsibility to lead the European Clinical Operations team, specialising in clinical development of drug delivery systems for the company's proprietary and partnered projects. Her areas of expertise include oncology, phase I clinical trials and quality management. Since 2002 she has worked as a Clinical Development Consultant providing advisory and support services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Janice has a broad knowledge of pharmaceutical product development and an extensive network of contacts within the pharmaceutical industry. She is an Honours graduate of Manchester University and subsequently obtained a MSc. in Applied Immunology (Brunel University ) and MBA (Open University). She is a Chartered Scientist, is a steering committee member for the Institute of Clinical Research's Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Forum and is on the board of editors for the Institute's journal, CRfocus.
